Camoy Briscoe is an experienced marketing professional with over three years of event planning and social media experience. In that time, she has established herself as an independent Social Media and Digital Marketing specialist. Currently she is working with brands Paper Doll Boutique and Hpnotiq Harmonie and has recently worked with brands Shuly Wigs, Busybee Designs, and PNK Elephant to build their brand awareness through numerous social networks.
She has utilized Twitter, Facebook, Tumblir, and LinkedIn to increase web traffic and turn profit for these brands. Camoy has also taken advantage of her network connections and was successful in having PNK Elephant placed in major editorial outlets such as Uptown Magazine.
In addition to Social Media and Digital Marketing, Camoy currently serves as the Content Manager for NYClout, one of NYC’s premiere go-to websites for industry events, parties, and showcases. Through marketing and email brand positioning such as the “Daily Rundown” and “This Week’s Events” campaigns, she leads a team that has devised a system of reaching out to tastemakers and the who’s-who of New York.
Camoy’s experience is not limited to being aware of the top events and she also has a large role in coordinating them as an event producer. She has the ability to plan the execution of industry, social and private events to meet the desired objective for the client. She has achieved successful media coverage for events such as “An Event Styled by Kiran Goraya”, a website launch event covered by WireImage.com in June 2011, and “PNK Elephant Holiday Soirée”, an accessories holiday affair sponsored by TyKu in January 2011. This role honed Camoy’s organizational skills and it was here she developed the ability of creating timelines, identifying milestones and managing third party vendors to effectively execute an event.
Having enjoyed her most recent work as an independent contractor, Camoy’s corporate background as a Merchandise Coordinator for six years at Macy’s Inc., taught her the importance of team projects and developed her skills of team briefing which consisted of informing Buyers, Planners, and Sales Representatives on key items, competitive shopping, and best sellers.
In addition to being the liaison between Macy’s and both E.S. Originals and Steve Madden, Camoy served as the eyes and ears for the brands by including product call-outs, customer requests and markdown suggestions in her weekly recaps. In addition to reports and presentations, Camoy often assisted in store events for Rampage, 143 Girl, and Steven. It was Camoy’s initiative, passion and ability to think creatively and strategically that lead her to be the Coordinator for so many brands simultaneously.
Camoy has a very competitive spirit but enjoys working with others and is a true team player. While she juggles many rolls she never lacks on giving any of them her all. Her work ethic is what has provided her a smooth transition from Corporate America to the world of a freelancing. From her days at Hampton University Camoy has always been a social butterfly with a big personality. Because of this she has built a network of individuals within the same setting and utilizes her connections to build the brands she works with.
